Rouvy teams up with BikeControl

Rouvy Joins the BikeControl Family

Only a few days ago I announced official support for BikeControl in MyWhoosh, and now BikeControl has teamed up with Rouvy to do just the same: a straightforward, official way to connect to Rouvy with BikeControl — enabling users to use all the extra features that BikeControl users love: virtual gear shifting, steering, workout intensity control, music control, button gestures, full keymap customization, and so much more.

With Rouvy's latest 4.5.4 update, BikeControl is now natively supported. No workarounds, no complicated setup — just connect and ride.

Two Ways to Connect

What makes the Rouvy integration especially exciting is that it supports two connection methods right from the start:

Network (Recommended)

The network-based connection is the most reliable option. It works across devices on the same network, meaning you can run BikeControl on your phone while Rouvy runs on your tablet, Apple TV, PC — whatever you prefer.

Bluetooth

The Bluetooth connection method is particularly useful for iOS users who want to keep BikeControl running in the background. Since iOS restricts background network activity for apps, Bluetooth allows BikeControl to maintain a persistent connection even when it's not the active app on screen. This means you can switch to Rouvy (or anything else) on your iPhone or iPad and BikeControl will keep working seamlessly. Alas, the network connection also works on iOS, but there may be issues in some cases where CPU is low and iOS decides to suspend background network activity.

How to Set It Up

Getting connected takes less than a minute:

1. Open BikeControl and connect your controller, then go to the connection settings

2. Select Rouvy as your trainer app

3. Choose your connection method — Network or Bluetooth

That's it on the BikeControl side. Then in Rouvy:

4. Open Rouvy and head to the connection/pairing screen

5. BikeControl will appear as an available controller — connect and you're ready to ride!

Supported Controllers

BikeControl works with a wide range of controllers — all of them compatible with Rouvy through BikeControl:

Growing Ecosystem

With Rouvy joining other trainer apps in offering official BikeControl support, the ecosystem of natively supported trainer apps continues to grow. BikeControl's goal has always been to make controller integration as seamless as possible across the indoor cycling world — and partnerships like this are a huge step in that direction.
