Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 14, 2026
OpenBikeControl UG (haftungsbeschränkt) ("we", "our", or "us") operates BikeControl and is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the BikeControl application and website.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Personal Data
We do not collect any personal data. BikeControl does not collect, store, or process any personally identifiable information such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, or location data. The one exception is advertising measurement: if it is active, Meta receives your IP address, browser details and the page you visited — see section 9, where you can switch it off.
1.2 Usage Metrics
We collect anonymous usage metrics to improve the app experience. This includes:
- Selected trainer app (e.g., Zwift, MyWhoosh, Rouvy)
- Controllers used (e.g., Zwift Click, Shimano Di2)
- General app settings and preferences
These metrics are collected solely for app optimization purposes and cannot be used to identify individual users.
2. How We Use Information
The usage metrics we collect are used exclusively to:
- Improve app functionality and user experience
- Identify and fix bugs or performance issues
- Understand which features are most valuable to users
- Optimize compatibility with different controllers and trainer apps
3. Data Sharing
We never sell or rent your data, and we never share it with data brokers. Our own usage metrics stay within our systems. The one exception is advertising measurement, which you control: outside the United States it runs only if you allow it, and in the United States you can switch it off at any time — see the section below.
4. Data Storage and Security
Anonymous usage metrics are stored securely using industry-standard practices. Since no personal data is collected, there is no risk of personal information being compromised. The one exception is advertising measurement: if it is active, Meta receives your IP address, browser details and the page you visited — see section 9, where you can switch it off.
5. Children's Privacy
BikeControl does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The app is designed for general audiences and does not target children specifically.
6. Your Rights
Since we do not collect personal data, there is no personal information to access, modify, or delete. The anonymous usage metrics we collect cannot be traced back to individual users. The one exception is advertising measurement: if it is active, Meta receives your IP address, browser details and the page you visited — see section 9, where you can switch it off.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
8. Contact Us
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or BikeControl's privacy practices, please contact us:

9. Advertising Measurement
We advertise BikeControl on Facebook and Instagram. To learn which of those ads actually help people find us, we can load the Meta pixel, which tells Meta that a visit or a download click happened.
Outside the United States, this runs only if you chose "Allow" in our cookie banner — if you declined, or never answered, the pixel is never loaded and nothing is sent to Meta. In the United States it is on by default, and you can switch it off at any time with the button below. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as switching it off, unless you have explicitly turned it on yourself. Either way, this changes nothing about how the site works.
This section of the privacy policy also carries the switch itself: it turns advertising measurement on or off, and your choice is stored in your own browser.
Summary
- No personal data collected, apart from advertising measurement you control
- Only anonymous usage metrics for app optimization
- Never sold or rented; advertising measurement is yours to switch off
