Every button on your levers, recognised on its own

Before 6.3 every AXS button looked the same to BikeControl, so all of them shared a single action. Now each input is identified by name and carries its own.

  • Left and right paddles — Shift down and up by default. Reassign either one to any action BikeControl supports.
  • Bonus buttons on the hoods — The hood buttons are separate inputs. Map them to steering, music, or a screenshot.
  • Wired Blips — Blips wired into the drivetrain appear by name alongside the paddles.
  • Vuka extension shifters — Extension shifters are recognised individually, so a time-trial setup keeps every control.

Single press and double press are separate actions. Each button can carry one action for a single press and a different one for a double press — shift up with the right paddle, skip a track by double-pressing it.

Where your AXS shifts land

Four trainer apps implement the open OpenBikeControl protocol and support BikeControl natively. TrainingPeaks helped shape the protocol itself. BikeControl works with MyWhoosh, Rouvy, TrainingPeaks Virtual, Strappo, Zwift, Biketerra, and and any trainer app that accepts a controller, keyboard or touch input.

Connecting your AXS drivetrain

You need BikeControl 6.3 or newer and a charged AXS drivetrain. It takes about a minute.

  1. Wake the drivetrain by tapping a shifter, then connect BikeControl to your SRAM derailleur — it appears in the device list like any other controller.
  2. Tap Set up SRAM control.
  3. Press and hold the AXS button on the derailleur until its light flashes. That is the derailleur confirming it is really you.
  4. BikeControl pairs, backs up your configuration, and takes over. Every button on your levers is now in the app, ready to map.

Your outdoor setup is backed up first. Before BikeControl takes over, it saves your current AXS button configuration — including anything you changed in SRAM's own app. Tap Restore original shifting at any time and BikeControl writes the backup back to the derailleur, ready for your next ride outdoors.

Which SRAM AXS buttons can BikeControl use?

All of them. Since BikeControl 6.3 every input on an AXS drivetrain is recognised on its own — left and right paddles, the Bonus buttons on the hoods, wired Blips and Vuka extension shifters — and each one can carry a different action. Single press and double press are separate actions too.

Which trainer apps does it work with?
